After their parents’ tragic accident, Talia, a 14-year-old, and her sister, Julie, moved to their Aunt Tillie’s house. But Aunt Tillie is a very disciplined, organized and somewhat boring person and the two sisters never get used to living with her. Talia and Julie convince Aunt Tillie to let them spend the summer with their paternal grandmother, Dolores, in Miami. Talia’s love for cooking lead her to reopen her family restaurant, Lola’s Kitchen, but she has to face fierce competition from the Fuccinelli’s family, owners of a restaurant on the same street. With the help of her sister and friends, Talia discovers her unique ability to use spices to magically change people’s emotions and thoughts and to make Lola’s Kitchen famous again.
